Office Relocations
Offices packed and moved around the working week, sequenced so the business is down for hours rather than days.
Downtime Is the Real Cost
Nobody judges an office move by whether the desks arrived intact. They judge it by how long people could not work. That makes sequencing the main design problem: what leaves first, what has to be running before anyone arrives, and what can follow later. The packing is straightforward; deciding the order is not. Offices move under time pressure that homes usually do not ÔÇö office and commercial relocation packing explains how the sequencing works.
What an Office Move Involves
The contents of an office are more varied than a home, and some of it cannot simply be boxed.
Relocating an Office?
A well-run office move is a schedule with packing attached, not the other way round.
Network, comms and the desks of whoever cannot stop working. These move first and are set up before anything else arrives.
Bulk furniture and archives are moved outside working time, which is what keeps the business-hours disruption short.
Storage, archives and rarely used equipment can go into our warehouses and arrive after the office is running.
Cartons marked with the new location, not the old one, so nothing has to be sorted twice at the far end.
Most offices discover at the point of moving that a large share of their storage does not need to go to the new address at all. It can go into storage instead, which is usually cheaper than the floor space it would occupy.
The Sensitive Parts
Two categories in every office move deserve separate treatment.
Packed to protect against shock and static, and moved in a planned sequence rather than with the general furniture.
Kept in order, sealed where necessary and tracked, so nothing is lost or exposed between two addresses.
Display items, artwork and specialist equipment packed to the fragile and high-value standard.
Why Cannata
An office move booked as a van and some boxes becomes a week of disruption. Booked as a sequence, it is an evening.
Cartons labelled for where they are going, so unpacking is not a second sorting exercise.
Transport is ours, so out-of-hours moves are scheduled rather than negotiated with a third party.
Archives and surplus furniture go into storage instead of into the new office to be dealt with later.
Rate Request
Give us the route and the cargo and we will come back with a rate, usually within one working day.
