Vehicle & Truck Services

Vehicles Are Not Ordinary Cargo

Importing, Exporting and Moving Vehicles

A vehicle is the one consignment that can move under its own power, which changes almost everything about how it is handled - and it carries more paperwork than most freight, because ownership has to be proved as well as value. Cannata handles vehicles through the UAE: bringing them in, sending them out, and moving them between addresses on our own transporters. Related sea bookings run through our RO-RO shipping service. Shipping a vehicle rolled on rather than containerised changes the documents required, as our RO-RO vehicle shipping guide explains.

Importing vehicles into the UAE

Cars and trucks brought in, cleared and released, with the duty and ownership documentation handled. See import of cars and trucks.

Collection and delivery

Vehicles moved between addresses on transporters or driven, within the UAE. See vehicle collection and delivery.

Getting a vehicle onto a vessel

Everything on the UAE side of a RO-RO sailing - inspection, paperwork and port delivery. See RO-RO vehicle logistics.

Commercial fleets and plant

Trucks, buses and wheeled plant moved as fleet operations rather than one at a time. See commercial vehicle handling.

The paperwork

Vehicle movements carry ownership and export documentation on top of the customs entry - prepared by our own clearance team.

Vehicles are also cargo

Anything that cannot be driven onto a vessel or a transporter is handled as freight instead - see oversized and heavy cargo handling for units that need lifting.

Storage between the legs

Vehicles frequently need somewhere secure to sit between collection and a sailing, or between arrival and registration. Our Dubai facilities take them.

Registration is a separate step

An imported vehicle is not usable until it is registered, which is the owner's process rather than ours. What we can do is make sure the customs and ownership paperwork it depends on is correct and complete.

Why Cannata truck

Transporters and Paperwork in One Place

Vehicle movements fail on documentation far more often than on transport, which is why doing both in one company matters more here than in ordinary freight.

Our own transporters

Vehicles moved on our own fleet rather than driven by whoever was available, which matters for condition and for insurance.

Ownership documents handled

Registration and export paperwork prepared alongside the customs entry rather than left with you to chase.

Storage before shipping

Secure space to hold a vehicle between collection and a sailing, instead of leaving it standing at a terminal.

Yes - the vehicle is cleared, the duty assessed and the ownership documentation handled, then it is delivered. Import rules depend on the vehicle's age and specification, so tell us what it is before shipping.

Yes, on our own transporters or driven, depending on the vehicle and whether it runs. Collection and delivery between addresses is a routine job here.

RO-RO means the vehicle is driven onto the vessel - usually cheaper, but only on served routes and only if it runs. A container protects better and reaches more destinations, but costs more.

Not by RO-RO, since it cannot be driven aboard. A non-runner goes in a container, loaded and secured, which is a different booking.

Ownership and registration documents alongside the customs entry, plus export documentation for outbound vehicles. Vehicle paperwork is where these movements usually stall.

Yes, in our own facilities. That is usually better than leaving it standing at a port waiting for a sailing.
