Freight That Leaves the UAE by Road

Freight That Leaves the UAE by Road truck

Cross-Border Trucking Across the GCC

A cross-border move is two customs jobs with a drive in between, and most of the delay happens in the paperwork rather than on the road. Cannata runs the UAE half of it outright: the truck is ours and the export declaration is prepared by our own customs team. Clearance at the destination is coordinated with a licensed broker in that country, so you still deal with one company. It sits within our land transportation services.

GCC Destinations Served by Road

Loads leave from our three Dubai hubs and run to all five neighbouring GCC states, as a full trailer or as a share of one where the volume does not justify a whole vehicle.

What Crossing a GCC Border Involves

Most cross-border delay is documentary, not logistical. Four things decide whether a truck clears in hours or waits days.

Commercial invoice and packing list

Value, description and quantity have to agree across both documents and the customs declaration. A mismatch between them is the most common reason a load is held.

Certificate of origin

Needed to claim preferential treatment under the GCC customs union, and attested where the destination authority asks for it.

Declarations at both ends

An export declaration leaving the UAE and an import entry on arrival. We prepare both, so the shipment is not handed to a second agent mid-route.

Vehicle and driver documents

Registration, insurance valid in the destination country, and driver documentation - ours to keep current rather than yours to chase.

Freight We Move Into the GCC

Most of our cross-border volume falls into three groups.

  • Manufactured and industrial goods

Machinery, components and finished product moving from UAE plants and free zones to buyers across the Gulf.

  • Re-export cargo

Goods landed at Jebel Ali and moved on by road, often after storage or cross stuffing in Dubai.

  • Project and contract deliveries

Site-bound loads with a fixed delivery window, where a missed date costs more than the freight did.

Why Cannata truck

One Company on Both Sides of the Border

A cross-border job usually involves a haulier and a broker, and the gap between them is where shipments stall.

Our own trucks

The vehicle is allocated from our fleet, so a booking is a commitment rather than a request passed to a subcontractor.

Customs in the same business

Export and import formalities are prepared in-house. Nothing is handed over at the border.

All five GCC neighbours

Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, outbound from Dubai and on return legs back into the UAE.

Frequently Asked Questions

What customers ask before booking cross-border road freight.

Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, from our three Dubai hubs in Deira, Umm Ramool and Jebel Ali Free Zone. We also run return legs back into the UAE.

We prepare the UAE export declaration ourselves - customs clearance is one of our own services, not an outsourced one. Clearance on the import side is filed by a broker licensed in the destination country, which we appoint and coordinate, so you are not arranging a second company or chasing two sets of paperwork.

A commercial invoice and packing list that agree with each other, and a certificate of origin where the destination requires one. Send them when you book - most border delays are documentary.

Either. A full trailer runs direct and suits fixed dates or high-value cargo; a part load shares the vehicle and costs less when the volume is small and the timing has some give.

Yes. Goods landed at the port can be stored or cross stuffed in Dubai and then moved on by road, with the re-export formalities handled alongside the transport.

Send the collection address, the destination, what the cargo is, its weight and dimensions, and the dates it is ready and due. Call +971 4 239 7107 or email info@cannata.ae.
