Oil, Gas and Industry
Equipment, spares and materials for energy and heavy industry, where a late delivery stops something considerably more expensive than the freight.
The Freight Is Never the Expensive Part
In heavy industry the cost of a late delivery is measured against the cost of an idle site or a delayed shutdown, which makes the freight bill almost irrelevant by comparison. That changes how the job is run: routes are surveyed, deadlines are worked backwards from, and contingency matters more than the rate. Much of this cargo is also oversized, which brings in our heavy transport and lifting.
What Moves
The range runs from a single urgent spare to a complete plant.
Moving Equipment to Site?
Energy logistics is bought on reliability rather than price, because the downside is asymmetric.
A shutdown scheduled months in advance does not move because a truck was late. Planning is backwards from the site date, with slack built in deliberately.
Much of this cargo needs low-beds, lifting and permits. Surveying the route first is the difference between a delivery and an incident.
Some materials carry classification and handling requirements. Tell us the classification before booking so it is confirmed rather than assumed.
Urgent spares do not arise during office hours. What this sector is really buying is a company that answers.
Industrial sites are frequently harder to deliver into than the cargo is to transport - restricted hours, permit-controlled entry, no hardstanding for a crane. That is checked before the movement, not on the day.
Two Very Different Jobs
Energy logistics splits into planned campaigns and emergencies, and they need opposite things.
Planned movements of large equipment against a construction or installation schedule, with route surveys and permits arranged in advance.
Small, critical items needed immediately, where speed and a direct dedicated vehicle beat any consolidation saving.
Equipment moving to sites in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC - see cross-border trucking.
Why Cannata
A broker who has not secured a truck cannot honestly promise a date. In this sector that distinction is the whole procurement decision.
Low-beds and flatbeds allocated from our vehicles rather than sourced after you book.
Cranes and handling organised as part of the movement, not left as your problem at the far end.
Imported equipment cleared by our own team, including temporary import for equipment that leaves again.
Rate Request
Give us the route and the cargo and we will come back with a rate, usually within one working day.
